Wednesday, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm – Golf Tournament, The Golf Club at the Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge The course is located onsite at the resort. The golf tournament is open to attendees and their guests. The competition will be an 18-hole best ball format with prizes awarded to the top three scores. Achievements including closest to the pin and longest drive will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 26th at the evening reception. A continental breakfast will be provided at the golf course beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Don’t feel like golfing? Why not a spa treatment or perhaps a culinary class? We’re pleased to offer the following options for those guests that would like to participate in something other than golf:
- Ballantyne Hot Stone Massage – the art of stone therapy uses a healing touch and warm stones working in harmony to penetrate sore muscles, reduce stress and restore balance while improving energy levels. This massages relaxes to the body to its deepest level. 75 minutes
- Head to Toe Facial Reflexology Experience – for the ultimate sensory facial, experience true luxury and relaxation while receiving immediate long-term results. While receiving the Ballantyne Signature Facial, allow a provider to perform a Reflexology massage for hands and feet. This four-hands treatment will leave the skin refreshed and relaxed in a truly memorable experience. 50 minutes<
- Spa Manicure – this luxurious spa manicure includes an exfoliation and massage of the hand and
forearm, fingernail shaping and polish application.
- Spa Pedicure – enjoy a soak in a warm whirlpool footbath, followed by an exfoliation and rejuvenating mask of the lower leg, feet and ankles in addition to the usual nail maintenance.
- Ice Cream Pedicure – indulge in a calorie-free ice cream treat! First select a scoop of Bath Ice Cream and drop into your foot soak. Let the delicious scent melt away any stress. A panel of insurers and agency captive owners/program managers will provide their perspective on
agency captives/programs and what any agency needs to consider before deciding to form a captive
or program. Issues include: evaluating market conditions, developing the right business plan/marketing strategy, how much risk to take, short term and long term financial objectives of the agency, capital requirements, infrastructure requirements and choosing the right market partner.

an update on the latest happenings in each of the 15 domiciles in which we operate.
Wednesday, 4:00 pm - 4:55 pm – How Predictive Modeling Can Help You Control Casualty Claim Costs,
Ballantyne, Fairway Ballroom
Predictive modeling helps you take charge of claims management by predicting individual claims severity
earlier in the life of the claim and identifying warning signs of fraud and other causes of higher than expected
claim severities. Captive owners are using the results of predictive analytics to identify appropriate patterns
of care based on certain diagnoses and modify claims handling procedures using evidence-based analytics.
In this session, we will discuss how predictive modeling can supplement actuarial analyses and claims
handling practices to achieve better results in casualty lines, such as workers compensation, commercial
automobile liability and medical professional liability.

More controls, more work. Is it really worth it? Is there a true benefit to your clients? USA Risk Group’s
office in Greenville has undergone two SAS70 Level II audits for services provided to Energy Insurance
Services. This is an audit of the services provided under our management agreement and includes
financial, insurance and cash management, as well as a detailed review of our IT procedures and controls
by a CPA firm. Staff from our Greenville office will explain the audit process and a representative of
EIS will review the benefits of the SAS70 certification to his company and their clients.

warranty and service contract industry with an emphasis on heavy equipment and the use of traditional and
alternative market programs to improve the financial benefits to both the warranty customer and provider.

Robert Myers, managing partner of Morris, Manning & Martin which specializes in financial services, regulatory and corporate issues, will give a brief talk on federal legislation.
Thursday, 9:00 am - 9:45 am – Investing in a Low Yielding and Volatile Environment, Ballantyne, Fairway Ballroom
With the low interest rate environment, net investment income has been falling for insurance entities.
In addition, market volatility is here to stay. What is a captive to do in this low yielding/high volatility
environment? This session will be an interactive discussion about asset allocation trends, asset/liability
matching scenarios and investment choices, given the conservative nature of insurance entities.

high worth individuals who have already decided to form a Captive Insurance Company for non-tax
business reasons should be explored. This session will explore: Section 831(b) of the Internal Revenue

Thursday, 2:30 pm - 3:15 pm – Unweave the Medicare Web: An update of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act, Ballantyne, Fairway Ballroom
The Federal Government has imposed new and stringent requirements on the insurance industry
when handling professional liability and workers compensation claims involving Medicare beneficiaries.
In particular, the government is requiring that the industry report claims involving Medicare beneficiaries
so that it can keep track of and attempt to recover Medicare expense associated with these claims. This
session will explain the new reporting requirements pursuant to Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid
and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSE), the impact it will have on handling claims, and how it relates
to the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
